Anyone who why Niall O'Brien is not playing for Northants? Is he injured?
I know he was carrying an injury at the start of the season. Or is it something to do with discipline?

He was stripped of Vice-Captaincy and suspended for a game in June, but reinstated to the team, but did not get the Vice-Captaincy back. This was apparently due to arriving back late from an International game in Dublin, he arrived back the morning of a T20 game.

This is probably nothing to do with why he hasn't featured recently, its more likely due to him having an operation on a fractured finger at the end of July.

    Quote from 24th August 2010:

David Capel (Northant's Coach)“Niall is still recovering from his finger surgery to put a pin in his finger. I understand that he caught a few balls for the first time yesterday. I will be catching up with him today to see how things are progressing.”

So, with the end of the season fast approaching and Northants with nothing, as usual, to play for, they are playing a young lad promoted from the Academy and 2nd XI's, David Murphy as wicketkeeper.

He is out injured for the rest of the season, he delayed the surgery he needed until the games he was needed for Northant's were done and the Ireland/Australia ODI,

that's it as far as I know,

*edit* - Dooferoaks too quick for me :D...
