Hours Shown On Payslip

    Hi All

Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me!

I have just started payroll where i work and everything is going ok but a query has come up for me regarding standard hours and overtime hours and how they should appear on the employees paysliip. Our employees can work up to 60 hours a week but all hours are paid at their standard rate of pay so previous payslips show all hours as standard and no overtime- is it ok for me to continue to show 60 hours as standard on a payslip?

Some employees might only take 40 or 50 and keep the others aside for the weeks that we might not have a full weeks work for them or for when they might need them more, this week two guys took 80hours as they needed it so it went in as 80 standard hours at a standard rate of pay. All contracts state that hours worked will all be paid at the standard rate.

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice

Yes and no. Personally I would show the standard week as 40hrs and put the additional hours down as such.

    Eg. Basic hours 40
Additional hours 20 (or whatever the extra hours are)

I agree with D.McC (I used to do payroll).
