    Hey Guys

First time poster in this forum. I managed to spill water into the laptop keyboard at the weekend. The laptop turned itself off once the water seeped in which was pretty much straight away. I took the HD out and there was no water on it so i presumed that the data could be easily recovered.

It's been in a local computer repair place and they havent had any success running recovery software on it and suggested that we go to Critical Data Services to try who seem to be the experts in the recovery field.

Has anyone has a similar thing happen and been successful in getting it back? There are files on it that are needed asap for a thesis.

    thanks

Assuming that the local computer crowd know what they're about then you don't really have any alternative at this stage. It'd be no harm to get a second opinion though from someone else before going down that specialist data recovery route 'cause that can be an expensive road.
