Outlook & iPhone Calendar out of sync - need alternative

    Hi all,

I have an iPhone 3GS & Outlook 2007. I've been having the same general problems as many others with items getting mixed up and sync not always working properly but it wasn't too bad.

However, in the last few days, nothing that I add on my iPhone calendar is transferring to Outlook during iTunes sync even though it tells me that it's adding so many items etc..

I haven't seen any sufficiently reassuring replies from apple & MS forums on these issues and I'm just fed up waiting for it to be sorted. I didn't see any mention of it on the new 4.1 update.

So here's the question: Which calendar application do you think works best to synch with Outlook onto the iPhone?

Am I alone in hoping that they would just fix the problem??????

    Thanks:confused:

I've just started syncing my hotmail calendar and emails using the exchange activesync and so far so good. Anything I add to outlook 2007 gets updates on my iPhone within a minute or so and vice versa. No need to manually sync anymore.

Thank you for your advice. I had also received information from others about using MobileMe & Pocket Informant in addition to the solutions you mentioned.

If anyone has any comments on those, that would also be really useful, thanks.

Here's to hassle free diary entries & not getting worried about loosing info!!

I went with Pocket informant in the end as I can also use their tasks function.

I moved my diary from Outlook to Google eff.1 Sep & so far have had no problems whatsoever & couldn't be happier

A new update of Informant is waiting for me & it wants me to sync to the iPhone's calendar but I'm not going down that route EVER again.

thank you all for your advice & he's to not loosing data:

I downloaded google calendar sync and set it up to sync my outlook calendar to my gmail account.
I then set up my gmail account on my iphone...and voila...all my calendar appointments are on it..

    Scarecrow,

Oh how I wish I could do that but I'm running Windows 7 and the google to outlook sync doesn't work for me, so I went the other route. Maybe, at some stage in the future!!

for those using windows, try gsyncit. i paid for it, its an awesome tool to sync calendars, contacts, notes with outlook and google.

unfortunately, not available on mac, but mac products (ical, address book and mail) already work well with google.

Hi, I've a related query. I'm considering upgrading my mobile phone(s) and am wondering best way to go?

    Currently i use 2
    - a Nokia E-51 for voice& text and personal contacts
-a Nokia E-71 for data (email, web & company contacts)

By having seperate phones I can have 2 seperate contact folders in outlook for personal and company contacts and these can synchronise independently using nokias synching software.

My query relates to upgrading to trying integrate all my exisitng services onto one smartphone platform while maintaining separate contact databases (outlook contact folders) for personal & company contacts respectively. What platform can support this
    - onto the Nokia E-71
    -a new Apple iPhone
-a new HTC Desire (android) or Samsung Galaxy S
    -a new HTC Windows 7phone

My question is which if any of these platforms will support synchronisation with seperate and distinct contact databases in outlook? And what apps or extra software do I need to carry this out?

thanks in advance for all info

I had the same problem at work when they upgraded the outlook server to 2010.

The MIS dept helped me out to get it working again.
