Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but i tried a search and couldn't find exactly what i was looking for.

Just wondering if anybody knows the easiest way of rooting a desire running stock froyo?

I had previously used the unrevoked method to root when I was running 2.1, but went back to stock to get the OTA. Now looking to get root access, and I see that unrevoked isn't working on froyo, at least for the minute.

Any other easy ways to root a froyo desire?

Why didn't you just get a ROM online instead of unrooting your phone with the OTA?

Go browse Desire.modaco.com they might be able to help you better over there.

You need to downgrade to 2.1, in particular the bootloader. There is a tool on xda developers to do this.
