    hey!

    was just wondering if anyone has moved to ireland from the usa and has experience with the process of getting car insurance? i am looking to get a car and need to insure it but have an american driver's license. any help would be appreciated!

    There's some information here. I'm sure the process with insurance companies is the same but may be a bit more expensive. If I were you, I would contact your DMV back home and get a report of how long you've had a license and your driving history (if its worth it) to give to the insurance.

    A bit .... Its crazy expensive .. Insurance companies in Ireland wont even accept a NCB from another EU Country let alone the US :(

    They accept NCB from the EU, Australia, New Zealand and canada..not too sure about america though
