Range Tribune HE Unvented Cylinder

Evening all, hoping someone can help me out.

I was watching telly a couple of hours ago when I heard a bang. It turned out the expansion vessel mount came away from the wall and the vessel fell on the lid of the hot water cylinder. Small leak from one of the pipes which stopped straight away when I tightened the nut - it must have loosened from the impact.

The main thing is there's a dent on the cylinder lid and it has lifted a few millimetres on the opposite side to the dent. There's no visible rupture, just a dent on the lid. I've run the shower for a few minutes and the cylinder and pipework seem to be fine.

My question is - is this a big deal or more in the line an inconvenience? In particular, is it possible to get just the lid repaired? I've checked the price of new cylinders online and they seem to vary from €700 to €1,000, which I can't afford right now, so if it could be repaired that would help me out big time.

    Thanks for reading this,

    Dave.

there should not be a problem, the insulation around the cylinder is generally 50mm thick, and very unlikley any damage is caused.Hang a jumper over the dent:)
