Hey folks, my girlfriend bought me a laptop the other day, a hp one, not sure of the model. Anyway I was using it today, all going well until suddenly a thin red line appeared on the screen running straight down the screen. Doesn't appear to be affecting anything but annoying. Any ideas on the cause or how to get rid of it? Thanks

Ouch! That sounds like a broken screen or a loose connection somewhere between the screen and the rest of the laptop.

Is that hard to fix or will we have to change the whole laptop?

It'd normally be a warranty fix. Bring it back to the shop if it's still under warranty.

You don't wann go opening up laptops yourslef unless you really know what you're doing.
