    Hi guys

The sump guard on my 02 Audi A4 is falling off.. the front is fine but its hanging at the back

I checked it last night and the bolts that hold it in at the back are missing

Does anyone know what size bolts I need to buy for this?

    Thanks in advance

Thats not a Sump Guard its a engine bay under tray surely?
    This is a Sump Guard:

Dunno bout the bolts, Id just buy a multipack in Halfords or B&Q and try several till you find the right one.

Think your talking about the plastic engine cover, their always falling off the VAG cars.

Just pop into a hardware show and get some replacement screws.

Its most likely the speed screws the secure the engine cover have worked themselves loose due to the vibration from the diesel engine and wear and tear. You could secure them with cable ties as the speed screw fix onto a metal frame, or you could go to the Dealer and order replacement ones.

Your A4 came with an Aluminium sump plate?! Are you sure its not plastic? You wouldnt be holding even the lightweight Alu on with cable ties either.

That aluminium one looks like a dieselgeek one. For when you absolutely must knock down that small roadkill/rock without damaging your sump :P

Oh .. one other to check is the Alternator belt, when cover fell off it went into the Alternator belt and shredded it.

It looked like a burnt set of womens knickers afterward.
