Hey was just on the Argos website there and saw this:




Just wondering is it right?
when i click it, it say the Xbox is 185€.
Anyways if the price is wrong and its 185€, + 30Euro For these 6 Games:

It says the discount won't be shown online, so I reckon you'll get the box for €140.

As for the games, I'd say its either of the two packs. Don't think they'd give you both for €30.

All that said, you should reserve everything and see what it comes to when you go collect. You can always leave them behind ya like.

still though, after the debacle with the 46" tv they'll probably price match it if it's advertised at a lower price on the website, if they did it for the tv i can't see why they wouldn't for this!

It's almost certainly a mistake as it's £139.99 on the UK website. The deal that "will not show online" is the games for €15 rather than the xbox for €139.99, you'll see they have the same deal on the UK site. That said, if they've honoured website mistakes in the past then it's worth a shot.

What's the difference between the 4gig xbox and the 250gig xbox other than the hdd size? Can you add a 250gig drive to the 4gig xbox?

The 250GB is glossy instead of matte and has a wired headset. Keep in mind that downloading demos and full games is likely to become more and more common. However, you do seem to be able to use standard USB flash drives for up to 16GB now, although they aren't as cheap on a €/MB scale and won't be as fast as a hard drive.

This is like the new xbox arcade... it looks cheap but a proper sized HDD would be highly recommended as a lot of games have DLC and 4gbs wont go too far.

I went into the store in Mahon, Cork yesterday, said that it was 139.99 on the website (as it was coming up at 189.99 on their system). The manager on duty searched the website and it was 189.99, I told them to click on the front page where it said 139.99 and once he saw the ad, he honoured the price. 50euro off!

Well I'm an owner of a new xbox

They did try to charge 185 at the till but once I showed them argos.ie they discounted it. Defo a misprint on the website.

Spent about 15 minutes in the shop but got it for 155 (including 3 games, 2 of which i already own). When you go in ask for the manager and if he wont give it to you ask him to ring the main office or whatever it is. After a long time arguing with the manager and the stubborn b**ch at customer service we asked them to ring up the main retailer and 5 minutes later they gave it to me for the cheap price. Good job too as I just go ring of death'd a few weeks ago.

Don't know what the official line from Microsoft is, but mine was over 4 years old when I got the RROD and MS fixed it without any qualms.

I had two consoles fixed over 4y/o from MS just before Christmas, couldnt register them just called them and asked , done no problem.
