I've seen this more than once, a sign of a certain fast food chain being placed beside regular road signs (and the brown touristy ones) as if it's an important place to go or something? Do they pay for this placement and can any business do similar or are the council actually promoting people stop and fill themselves up with junk? One I saw today was placed right next to a brown attraction sign post so it just got me thinking.

I would imagine most are illegally put up and no-one is arsed doing anything about it.
Like a lot of other junk advertising that appears around

Jaysus! It must be triggered by the word junk :D

They certainly don't look like they've been illegally put up. They seem to be in pretty prominent positions and appear to have been erected by the council even perhaps?

There's actually a big red "Ban Cookie Monster" button under your name, but I edited it out so that you wouldn't get paranoid...

afaik all signs like this are illegal and the council can fine companies involved if the signs are reported to them.

There are signs off of J3 on the M8 saying "Diversion, this way" attached to the signs on the roundabouts. These were put there by a certain shopping centre in Rathdowney.

Theres M signs of the fast food restaurant in Shannon on the M18/N18. They have been there for years and nothing is done about them.
