Hi all, I'm in the process of doing up a tractor. Does anyone have any experience repainting the Wheels. Mine have large patches of rust which I should clean but is there any easier option. Do I have to use a primer and can anyone recommend a silver/ Aluminium colour spray paint to use
    :):):):)

The easiest way to clean them is to get them sand/shot blasted, after that they need to be primed fairly fast or they will get rusty again. My preference would be Lowe rust primer, but you might get other suggestions on here.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

The best option would be to have them sand blasted and resprayed, with a coat of primer first.

No matter what you do you'll have to get rid of the rust patches, if you don't want to go to the expense of sandblasting you could try a wire brush disk for an angle grinder, then paint them your self.

this is the best option. just do the patches. if you shotblast the whole wheel then you have a lot of akward painting to do. use tractol red oxide primer and then tractol mf silver mist. its nice for wheels.

Sodablasting is better than sandblasting, it has an anti-rust effect as well which stops surface rust forming after the blasting.
