    Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria.
I have tried Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise (nicknamed breezey teguisey) both on Lanzarote and Port el Kantoui in Tunisia ( dodgy at the best of times ) for Christmas and New Year. None of these compares to Puerto Rico, high 20s at least and reasonable food and drink if you stay away from the Irish bars. I have gone there for the last 3 Easters and Christmas/New year and never been dissapointed. Fly with Iberia, you stop over in Madrid for about 2 hours and save a fortune compared to direct flight if you book early enough. Try to get somewhere around the commercial centre but not too close if you want early nights, any where near the Europa centre is a bit of a hike to the town but taxis are cheap. Hope this helps you.

Los Cristianos and Playa las Americas in Tenerife are all year round resorts. Plenty of 5 star accommodation if you want it, Irish bars and a decent island to explore by car with the volcano in the centre.
