While trying to upgrade my linux I accidentally formatted my external hard drive :o
This is after deleting partitions and moving all my files on to the external hard drive. There's only about 30Gb of data that I've kept on a 500Gb drive but the drive now doesn't appear on the laptop at all :/

I've tried using TestDrive on windows to restore it but not joy, trying active-undelete now but it's going to take about 12 hours for that to run its course.
File format is NTFS, anyone any suggestions of other software I could use either for linux or windows?
