    1 tiger
    2 zach johnson
    3 cink
    4 fowler

tiger is a banker for me,

zach as i think he's a fantastic player and having seen the way he took down ph and mc ginley on his own on sat morning in the k club has to be a pick major (winner too)

cink for both experience and I just think he makes a good fit for zach(major winner also)

fowler is a good buddy of bubba so maybe this may help a little but really i see him as a foresomes partner for someone like stricker or kuchar
as bubba and dustin johnson are probably a pairing to be used maybe only in 4 ball,if he gets a run in 4 ball would fancy him to play with phil

anyway who do you like ?

Only having just checked the current US team just there. Can't believe Watney isn't in the team already.

    1. TW
    2. Fowler
    3. Watney
    4. Duval :)really Z. Johnson

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 799 ✭✭✭Legwinski

    1. Fowler
    2. Watney
    3. Woods ( for publicity reasons)
    4. Johnson I suppose.

    p.s. Fowler> Kim

    When is the decision made?

    Woods is a certainty.

I'd probably go for Glover, Johnson and Watney after that.

Yup, nothin to do with him being the best player the world has ever seen

Woods, Cink, Johnson and either Fowler/Glover... hard to pick!

Can't believe no-one has gone for Sean o'hair. He would be my first choice.
Fowler, zach and Tiger being the other 3.

I say Tiger and Zach are shoe ins.

with the team having bubba and dustin I say Corey will look for some solid players since you can't really seeing them playing foresomes with their style of play

So I say Cink will go also.

I am not sure on glover, kim, watney.

    I am going for Kim.

but i think Corey will make at least one surprise in his picks

Considering Tiger's pathetic Ryder Cup record I wouldn't consider him a shoe in.

    Tiger
    Zach Johnson
    Fowler
Watney / Cink / Glover dunno really...

Tiger looks to be showing some decent form, so he's a definite pick for me.

Zach Johnson playing some very solid golf in the last couple of months, not a spectacular player but will hit greens and fairways. Very similar to Donald as a European pick.

I'm not 100% sure I'd pick him but I reckon Rickie will get a pick as well. He'll bring a bit of X Factor to it and Pavin will be looking for him to have the same impact as Anthony Kim in 2008.

The last pick will be between Cink and Glover I'd say, 2 major winners who play solid golf. Probably Cink if I had to choose.

Kim hasn't shown enough form since coming back from injury, Barnes might have got one a couple of months ago, don't think he has a chance now, Watney's collapse at the PGA will have done him no favours.

Can't see glover getting any look
Not going well this year at all

    Tiger
    Cink
    Z Johnson
    Watney

Watney supposed to be good pals with Mickelson due to their association with Butch, possible partnership

i agree with the above but take Glover out and leave Fowler in,i'm sure Pavin saw the crappy attitude of Glover last week,he couldn't hit 1 good shot ,he was a joke and basically went around with his head down for the last 9 holes
for me Fowler is a shoe in to get picked,i actually backed him 2 weeks ago at 4/1 and i'm very confident

    Zach Johnson
    Ricky Barnes
    Nick Watney
Tom Watson :) (or maybe Tigger)

Would love to see Kim get a pick and Poulter take him on in the singles. Grudge match big time. Or Boo Weekley for that matter after actin the eejit last time round.

I wonder will Corey Pavin be tempted to go with Charley Hoffman after his stunning win today.

Of course he is a shoe in, number 1 in the world, coming back into some form.

The idea of a 'pathetic' Ryder Cup record is ridiculous. He is still in the top 10/12 of all time points scorers for the US and is good enough to play. Simple as

3.30 Irish time. The golf channel will be carrying it live. This stream carries that particular channel all day long.

I think Fowler is an inspired pick. No real surprise about the others tbh.

News Conferences can be pretty boring a lot of the time but this is up there as one of the most mind numbingly dull conferences of all time.

I agreed with that statement of fact, and I followed up with a question, if you choose not to answer.... Normally these things are beyond boring.

Is it Paul Goydos daughter Fowler is going out with:confused:

It is some current tour player, thought it was him.

I think if they play Fowler with Bubba in 4ball it will work, certainly not 4somes

No...but I think you may have to redirect your browser. If I only I hadn't missed that Photoshop class in college, I could help you out.

That's why the middle part of a women is called a waist. It's a waste that they didn't put more breasts there...

Back on topic... Good picks from the US. Look forward to McIlroy vs Fowler.

Fowler is as big a gamble by pavin as PH was for monty, if not bigger.

The first US player to play in RC with no pga tour wins? massive massive risk by pavin - who in justification could only come up with " it came down to a feeling .... i have a gut feeling about ricky ". manlove alert! it makes monty's picks look positively cautious.

And, considering the suggested late consideration of charlie hoffman for a pick by a minority of golf writers in the US was laughed off by others, how does this refect pavins knod to fowler? A guy who won emphatically the wknd before the announcement wasnt even considered a serious contender.... and then pavin picks a 21yr old non pga tour winner!?

pavins rolled the dice here... put his male chicken on the chopping block.

he reckons he's fearless... we'll see how that works out on the morning of 1st october. i hope he gives a good account of himself.. not too good tho obviously.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,989 ✭✭✭Trampas

If RC was in USA fowler would have been ok but not so sure about it been away
