Get to the second floor of an office block or apartment building.

    Bring food and water.

    Destroy stairs.

    Turn off lift.

    Live.

there might not be rescue crews. you'll have to go somewhere that you can get in and out of easily for supplies

on the contrary a zombie invasion of Ireland wouldn't be very successful, it would be a tough few weeks but at the end of the day theses are shambling corpses, you have the fca waiting for something to do and the most of the country is fairly rural, also the winter would finish off whatever remains wallking mindlessly through the countryside and forestry.,
also getting up and down a ladder is fairly quick and any zombies at the base of the house can be taken out with slates and bricks, making runs to and from places for supplies a lot easier than being locked in a high rise.

depends on how severe the outbreak is, how its initially transmitted and how fast infection occurs, as well as what type of zombie you're dealing with.

If you were expecting it and prepared for it, you wouldnt be on a roof, you may as well be trying to run away from a a gang of muggers down a cul de sac and hoping that a garda convention is waiting inside that last house.

you might get bitten at the bottom of the ladder, also the winter might take out the zombies but how are you going to survive the winter on a roof :pac:

not really, as in a cul de sac the muggers have you while on a roof the zombies
    A. can't touch you
    B. you can to a degree fight back

well doing most things bring a chance of zombie bites, if your careful this could be avoided, by winter most of them should be dealt with and i should be able to leave the roof, the winter should just take out the remainder

i dont think the irish winter is cold enough to stop all the zombies we dont get huge snowfalls and it mostly rains

and is the house in a well populated area or out in the country

the zombies would be able to see you on top of the house so it would draw more of them to the house so your way down would be blocked off and you would probably starve to death unless you made a run for it

It's difficult to believe that your 'ultimate' plan is to get on the roof...
I was expecting a lot more on reading the word 'ultimate'.

    My ultimate plan?
Grab as many of the DUKW's that i can from the dublin viking splash tour, depending on how many people i have with me. Next, head to a hardware superstore and grab some weaponly items, also stuff to reinforce the vehicles.
With these vehicles we can travel to small rural areas to raid for fuel and food and possibly rescue survivors. These vehicles are scarily perfect for zombie survival, first sign of trouble - head for water. Essentially, you can sleep on rivers and only go on land when you need to resupply.

    Who's in?

PS. You bitten? You gettin a pitchfork to tha face! :D

well i live in the countryside, so these are not things i would have to hand in the event of a zombie invasion,
i'd prefer your plan in the long term but mine is more of an immediate plan,
i believe a zombie invasion would be short term anyway.
also your plan is more of a step 2 from my plan because while effective it would take a long time to get started

Don't worry! I'll come save you with my fleet of amphibious autos if it takes too long! :D

    treehouse-fall-04-gif.gif

One of these with a rainwater collection system, mini wind turbine and a hydroponic garden for food and you're sorted! No plan needed really.

That's a pretty big insurance policy for a highly unlikely eventuality...

    ORGANISE BEFORE THEY RISE!!

Anyway, I think it'd be pretty cool to live in a treehouse even if the dead aren't walking.

no, i'm quite serious, what is up there for them, while it takes relatively little brainpower to process sound, smell and touch, it takes a whole lot more to take in sight and figure out what it is your looking at.
zombies are effectivly blind, (or can only make out simple shapes) so why would they look up?

...zombies are also fictional, impairing their sight almost completely!
