Engine Light (orange) on 00 Yaris

    HI there,
I'm hoping someone can help me, until I can get my car back to the garage.
I've a '00 Toyota Yaris, 1L, which was serviced this week (non dealer garage), in advance of the NCT. After taking the NCT today, which it passed with no issues, I was driving the 20 miles home, when an orange light (possibly the engine maintanance - looks a bit like a pump), lit up.
As it was just serviced, no major issues, and passed the NCT minutes before, I'm wondering what the heck this light means.
I didn't get a toyota user manual with the car, but have a haynes manual, however the manual doesn't give you a way to troubleshoot what the problem is, it assumes you know!

Anyone any ideas, I'll bring it back to garage next week, but hoping someone will say 'NCT might have forgotten to re-attach a gizmo, after NCT'.
    thanks

Assuming the light is the engine management one, the car will need to scanned for fault codes to determine the cause of the problem. It can be any one of a number of things which can put that light on.

It's unlikely that it is related to the NCT, but if you are competent enough, pop the bonnet and see if there is anything obvious amiss.

A very common problem with the Mk1 Yaris. It was something along those lines that was wrong with mine too and I seem to recall paying somewhere in that ballpark to have it rectified.
