Hi can someone please help me. Ive just finsished 2 years of a 3year degree in Quantity Surveying and to be hoenst i hate it and have no interest in it anymore. I applied through the CAO to do a different course in the same college but was 30points short as points went up this year. I know people that have transfered through courses through the college before but for some reason im not allowed? Now it looks like i have to get a job but handing out cv's the last 3 months has turned up nothing so it looks like im going to have to join the ever growing enemployed. Does anyone know how much i could claim living at home or could i possibly get welfare to talk to the college to let me do the course. I dont want to be on welfare i want to go to college to do my other course?
    Any advice would be appreciated
    Thanks

You would probably have to pay full tuition fees for the course because you have already done 2 years

I am assuming that you are 20 - on that basis you would probably get €100 per week social welfare

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If I were you I'd put up with the course for another year, then do a post grad in the other course.
You probably weren't allowed to transfer because the other course was full. You could try again in October after everyone else has been admitted... or maybe ask to transfer to 2nd year in another course.

If i finished out the other course would i get in next year to my other choice?
I keep emailing the college and ringing them asking if someone drops out could i take there place?
And could i realy transfer to 2nd year of a different course?

what tenchi fan was suggesting that you might be able to do a postgrad
