    hey guys!

I have an interview first one in ages and ages for a Special Needs Assistant job in a creche just looking for some fashion advice! I don't want to be overdressed as I think everyone is fairly casually dress there anyway and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    xx

    Hey,

I had an interview for a similar position a few months ago; there was no dress code as everyone was extremely casual but I still wanted to make a good impression!

I went with black jeans that kind of looked like trousers, but not overly formal. A grey tank top with a white shirt over it and a loose boyfriend-style black jacket worn open over the whole thing. I had mid heel boots under the jeans as well.

So it was the standard shirt and trousers attire, but slightly more casual! I just don't think blue jeans look great in interviews, but it's not too hard to find casual alternatives. Hope that helps :) And best of luck!

Unless it's a practical interview, I don't see why you should treat it any differently to any other. You may not want to wear the full on suit, but black trousers, a proper shirt and jacket would be fine. It depends on who is interviewing you, the staff may be casual but better to look like you are taking it seriously by dressing more seriously that what you would wear day to day in the actual job.

I'd be of the same opinion as lainey316. Regardless of what the dress code is like day to day an interview is still an interview. Personally if someone turned up to an interview in jeans I wouldn't be impressed at all (not that I've ever interviewed anyone :P).

If it were me, I'd make the effort to dress smart, they're going to see you before you get a chance to open your mouth so best to make a good impression from the start. :)
