06 TDI Golf Service - Will it hurt?

    So have my Golf TDI about two years now, bought it from HB Dennis in Swords and haven't had any major problems with it aside from regular service.

    - About 6 months ago then the fuel pump in the tank started to act up and replaced that myself (€100 part from VW)

    - About a month ago the alternator started squeeling with a doggy pulley so replaced that straight away too.

    Since then tho it hasn't sounded like it was running the nicest, cant put my finger on it. Just little small noises that nobody else really hears but does my 'Princess and the Pea' style head in.

    So anyway, its due a service now and I figured might as well bring it to VW and they'll finally sort it for me, they quoted €200 on the phone as its not due timing, but is there anything they'll try charge for that I should say no to?

    Might need brake fluid or coolant change, and consumables like brake pads are impossible to predict. Take it in and say not to do any extra work without notifying you.
