Does UPC Cable broadcast on Astra 2??

    Hi, I'm going back to college next week in Waterford and in the house that I live in this year I have UPC television and Broadband. There's a major problem though, this coming Monday night there is a programme that I have to see on the channel Showcase, this channel is available through Sky, Freesat and all Freeview boxes, but not UPC. My question is, If I disconnect the UPC box and connect a freeview box using the UPC satellite cable, Will I receive a signal that will give me the desired channell? ie. Does UPC Cable broadcast using an Astra 2 signal? Thanks in Advance!

    No, no, no. UPC is a cable TV service, it's not satellite based.

    Does the channel stream online?

    i'm fairly sure upc is not satellite based (that's why it's called cable!) If there is a dish on your house it's probably an old sky dish and you could possibly connect a freeview box to that

    No it doesn't unfortunatley, so it's a waste of time connecting a freeview box yeah?

    Yes. A Freeview box is completely useless in this situation for more than one reason!
