uc2 among thieves vs the platinum version

hi i don't know anything about ps3 games but just want to buy hubby the uc2 since it has a good review but when i searched for it there's the original version and the platinum version. is there a big difference between the two? do i need to get both or just the platinum version?

They are the same game, just the platinum is cheaper, or should be. Platinum titles mean they sold a certain amount so they get re-release a year or two after the original release at a cheaper price.

Hey theres no difference, platinum just means that the game sold well and is being re-released at a cheaper price than when the original came out so it doesnt matter what edition you buy. Great game though

Platinum games have ugly cases aswell. Maybe thats just me though

If it was me I'd but the original, those horrific yellow cases the platinum ones use are awful, it pains me I own UC1 on platinum, I actually hunted high and low for a non platinum MGS4 and found one cardboard slipcase and all, for 20 quid in Xtravision one night, love when that happens

At least the ps2 platinum games were...yknow, platinum in colour? yellow? YELLOW?!
