Noticed over the last few days that they do not seem to cover irish airspace anymore .

The aircraft disappear from tracking once just west of Wales:(

I know, pretty annoying and there doesn't appear to be any news on why.

I think the person who was providing the coverage over Ireland now updates the info to casper flight tracking and not radarvirtuel any more.

    Boooo

Casper is great and all but you have to pay to get the live picture.

Its nothing to do with offical atc radar .Its private individuals who have bought special hardware who provide the aircraft info.

Here is one for you Eoin http://www.kinetic-avionics.com/sbs-1.php

    Its only 79.95 pounds ;)

Out of interest, is all you need an internet connection and the box connected to your router? Or do you have to have it connected to your pc? And does the antenna have to be outside?

That seems ridiculously cheap, I was talking to a guy @ LPFR last week and the set up cost him in the region of €500.
Does anyone know if its just a "plug and play" or is it a bit more complex than that? I'd certainly hand over £80 if it would give me my own "virtual radar".

That's because it's £80 for just the add-on module to give ethernet connectivity to the SBS1 which is of course a substantial amount more ;)

I'm seriously thinking of doing it, is there anybody in Eire supplying the whole lot or would I have to buy the various components and hook it up myself? Is it difficult to set up on your computer?
