Holiday/wedding dilema

Hi, I am attending a wedding abroad with 3 other friends and we are staying in my parents villa in this place and then the few days of the wedding we are going to the resort. 2 of us are going for longer than the other 2 and we set out a "breakdown list" of what the car hire, will be, cost of accomodation weekend of wedding, night of hen night, and the cost of getting someone in to cleaning the villa for my parents. It wasn't that much in all fairness. So sent out the e-mail setting all this out, it had been checked by one of the other girls so its not like I did it off my own bat.

as 2 of us are staying longer and 1 has to get to the airport really early, she was like who will drive me to the airport you'll have to get and drive me, now the wedding party are going back on the same flight as her and she is really good friends with them too and knows most of them, so she could get a lift back with them to the airport.

I stupidly replied to the e-mail "reply to all " instead of just one of the girls and I said oh I don't what to get up at 3.30 am to drive to the airport and maybe she could get a lift back with the other. Now I didn't mean any meanness and when I relised a few hours later I sent the e-mail to everyone I wrote again and aplogised and explained. Now that was about 3 weeks ago and I have heard nothing.

Now this morning one of the other girls said she has decided she might change her flight and come a few days after us, the day before the wedding celebrations and miss the hen night etc. now she has booked her ticket so she is probably going to lose money by having to change her flights and I am thinking is she doing this because of what i said?

So obviously she won't be in the car hire or any of the other expenses with us but will still expect us to pick her up at the airport and drive her around which I understand is fair enough but after her not even replying to the e-mail I sent her I think is a bit much and especially as she'll expect to stay with us in my parents villa for just one night. I hope this doesn't sound petty as its not meant to be just really venting a bit I guess.

I know our friend who is getting married will be disappointed that she won't be there for the hen night as it is such a small wedding and she invited only her closest friends.

Just found out my friend wasn't clear in her e-mail to me this morning and the other girl is thinking of coming back with us not coming a few days after us! I still am hoping that she didn't take offence to the e-mail I sent saying I didn't want to drive to the airport and maybe I am being a bit silly here but think that she should have at least replied to me as it is my parents villa she is staying. Again hope I am not sound petty.

Pick up the phone!! It's sooo easy to misread/misinterpret emails and texts and you could be worrying completely unnecessarily.

I think you might be reading too much into this, there could be any number of reasons not to have heard back from friend via email, such as being too busy, hasn't checked email, maybe doesn't have internet atm, etc.

I agree, pick up the phone rather than sitting worrying about it and thinking the worst!

It's more stressful worrying about maybe someone did or didn't take offence to email than the situation itself and is probably all for nothing!

pick up the phone and call or arrange a get together to talk together on it face to face so there's no room for confusion on anyone's behalf or chance for something to be taken up wrong.

I would call her if I had her number but I don't, she is really good mates with the other two girls I am going with and I am really good friends with them so we are mates throught the other girls - I was the one who invited her to come stay with us as we were all staying in my parents villa and obviously would have been unfair to expect her to stay in a hotel or something.

I know I am probably over reacting and the thing is I usually wouldn't be one to worry but hopefully she understands that I didn't in any way mean to so sound harsh.

I hope to organise a night out for the 4 of us before we head off on holidays so will make sure she knows i didn't mean to sound nasty.
