i've heard from locals from the area around thornton hall that work on a €10m wall around the perimiter of the farm the govt so astutely purchased on which to build a prison is due to commence any day now.
Our astute govt also are spending 500k a year on 24 hour security for the farm/prison and have forked out a few million for landscaping around the farm/prison also...a 1.5km road up to the farm is to be built at a cost of €2.5m

if you're not sure where this prison its just off the M50 beside the world's most expensive sieve..ie the water tower at finglas/ballymun exits which cost millions to build but has never been operational as it leaks the water it was built to hold.

    3 cheers for Fianna Fail!

It's not a water tower, it is a Golf Tee. The ball is just off the N7 in Naas.

Were you, by any chance, watching "Money to Burn" on TV3 on Wednesday night??
I saw enough of it to make me want to go into Leinster House with a grenade launcher, and then I switched it off - I actually wanted to get a few hours sleep that night instead of lying in bed raging for hours on end.

Edit: I've just read that Thornton Hall article - I happen to know that that job went out to tender quite some time ago, and was rumoured to be out for tender again 18 months ago. There's an amount of messing going on there...stupid place to build a prison anyway:rolleyes:

watched the program, then was talking about it with lads from around the area who were telling me about the 10m wall and security on site

Oh yeah, I don't deny that! Just sort of funny that that programme was on 2 nights ago, and suddenly a number of projects that had sort of vanished into the mist reappear in our papers and news, with "updates"....
