its certainly looks like its a misprint, samsung aint notorious for their plasma's but i will be keeping an eye on this one at that price.

The Samsung PS50B450 is part of Samsung's B Series, which are last year's models, so Komplett are most likely clearing out old stock to make room for this year's models, the C Series.

It's hard to tell because Powercity's website doesn't appear to state the actual model number of that Samsung 50" plasma TV for €599.95.

Nope, plasma's have a practical instantaneous response time, this does not mean there will be no input lag however, not really a bargain at that price either, just an ok deal

You're right actually. For some reason I was thinking it was an LCD; that will teach me for posting at nearly 4 am! :P

Yes but the one quoted is 4 inches bigger and a Plasma and is not full HD;)

    ..and is not full HD;)
Quite correct, but IMHO the pic on a plasma is much much superior to an LCD. In fact 720p on a plasma can look better than 1380 on an LCD.

I know there is much more detail on a 1380 screen but LCD is a crap pic compared to plasma.

I agree with you but why do so many people buy LCD's so ?

I have the exact same TV, it's €699 in places so not a misprice.

A lot of people are mistaken into thinking that the image quality of LCD screens displayed in store is the same image quality that they'll see when they get the TV home. The only way this would happen is if their sitting room, living room, bedroom etc had fluorescent lighting like stores do. Plasma TVs are not as bright as LCDs, so under a store's fluorescent lighting their image doesn't look quite as bright as an LCD's. As such, most people prefer the super brightness and neon colours LCD TVs display.

The only way to accurately compare the image quality of two different TVs is to do the following:

    a) ensure that both TVs are correctly calibrated.
    b) carry out the comparison in a lighting controlled environment.

Unfortunately due to the above, and the general price difference between plasma and LCD TVs of comparable size, LCD TVs are the more successful of the two. Until people understand that plasma TVs generally offer much better image quality than LCDs, more and more people will remain ignorant and continue to buy LCD TVs.

plasma' s suffer from burn in. Also the black tends to in after a few months. to start with LCD'S have a poorer image but after a few month' s use they catch up. Problem is people buy low contrast 50Hz LCD's

I know the plasma/LCD debate has been done to death over the years but.......

    - Plasma burn is more or less a thing of the past with the newer screens. Software is used to reduce/eliminate it
    - contrast is much better on plasmas due to the way colours and light are generated. Obviously blacks are much blacker on plasmas.
