    Hi,

Three quick questions please could someone help out- hard to find info, even though there is so much info about social welfare on line. Hard to get precise answers!

    1. When I was told last time signing on that I had 98 days/credits left on JSB- how many weeks does that mean exactly?

    2. If it means my JSB is coming to an end soon, when do I sign on/apply for JSA.

    3. I am moving out of my shared flat soon, and will be heading home to my parents for maybe a couple of months- but will be planning to move out in the new year again. How will living at home with my folks (I'm 30) affect my application for my JSA, if I have to apply when I am at home.

Will it make a difference ot the payment size, and if I tell them that my plan is to move back out to shared accomodation will that make a differece.

I know people here get sick of these sort of questions- and I'm sure there is info somewhere on line- but it is hard to find it. And I'm a tad stressed at the mo, like so many people out of work :(

    thank you boardies in advance;)

About a month before the end. They usually send out a letter.

Depends if your parents live in the same area as your current dole office. Unless they give you money every week it won't affect your payments.

(1)I you have 98 days left then you divide this by six so you have 16 weeks and two days left.
    (2) The usually write out to you 6-8 weeks before your benefit ends.
    (3) Your parents income will not have any bearing on your claim once you are over 25

    thanks for the replies. :o

    just to clarify,

I'll be moving in with my parents for a few months- and I think it will be then that I will be applying for JSA.

My parents live in a different social welfare office area than I do now- how would that change anything in terms of how much I will be awarded?

I know I will have to change my address with the social welfare office

Your parents income will not affect your payment for jobseekers allowance.
