iTunes syncing for two devices

    Hey,

I have an iPhone and the wife has an iTouch.

When I plug our respective devices into the Mac, we manually select the songs we want because she doesn't like my music and I don't like hers so theres no point in filling our devices up with unwanted music.

Say she just finishes syncing hers and unplugs it, I come along and plug in my iPhone and automatically all **** like Beyonce, Tina Turner, etc is selected and I have to manually undo all this and select my own.

Is iTunes not supposed to remember how each individual device synced on that machine? If not, its a bloody pain having to do this each time!

Set both devices to ‘manually manage music and videos’. This way they wont automatically sync the music in the library. You can then manual transfer your music.

Or just set both devices to sync to a playlist. One playlist for you, another for the wife.

    Or, two user accounts.

Or two separate iTunes libraries on the same user account - hold Option down when clicking on the iTunes icon to open it and you can create a new library and then use the same steps to choose between them when you open iTunes:
