VAT back for a sports team?

Hi, Basically myself and a few of the lads have set up our own soccer team (CSKA Tralee - Don't be afraid to look us up on Facebook) but we had to splash out around €650 on kits for the season. Basically all I want to know is it possible for us to claim vat back on these? Thanks

Short answer- no.

Long answer get a sponsor to buy you your jerseys in future, preferably a sponsor with Vat deductibility.

If you intend going further with the club I'll give you a hand if you get a bit further on than buying jerseys as I'm a Kerryman myself.
