I am currently embarking on the final semester of my MA in Sports Psychology. As part of my final placement program I will have to work on a 1 to 1 basis with an individual athlete for 4-6 weeks. I am trying to find a person who competes at a high level, is currently in training and would have a competition or meet within the 4-6 weeks of the placement. The 4 -6 weeks would involve discussion and implementation of various psychological skills to help maintain/improve performance.

If anyone thinks that they fit into the bracket above then feel free to send me a PM with details outlining your competitive situation. I would be particularly interested in someone currently competing in MMA. An end of placement write-up would be compiled which would outline the details pertaining to training experiences as well as competition.

If you have any reservations or questions then feel free to reply in the thread.

edit: I would hope to spend time talking to coaches or teammates during training time while trying to build up a profile of the athlete. The lines of questioning are very casual and non-invasive and can provide insightful information regarding individuals perceptions of themselves and others.

I am based in the Limerick region but can accomodate athletes in the Waterford, Cork, Galway and perhaps Dublin area.

While I don't want to speak on anyone else's behalf, seeing as your in Limerick it might be a god idea to get in contact with the lads at the Combat Sports Centre. Plenty of sound lads train there and compete in shows fairly regularly. Head coaches Ger and Fergal are top blokes too. PM me if you need a contact number. Hope this helps!
