Flicking through The Gloss (now free with the Irish Times). That is one expensive publication to produce. Sure there's a lot of fancy ads in there, but are they really covering costs on it? Nice job though.

Is it a totally free publication or is there a free version (in The Times) and a paid for edition, which would be bigger, too? Hello Mag do this way in association with the Mail or Express in the UK.
It got a load of free publicity on The Liveline today.

Totally free now. It was a standalone, pay-for job before that.

Wasn't another one of those famous Irish Times acquisitions that turned to sh!ite? I think that they had to rejig it as an insert because the figures weren't strong enough to justify leaving it as a stand-alone. (From what I remember.)

It's a money pit, they had to give it away for free to try and get some readership so they could get some advertising. I wonder how many of the ads are paid for. Another Maeve special, everything she touched turned bad and journalists got laid off as a consequence of her shortcomings.
