    I am really pissed off.

I paid around €10 all together to place 2 ebay ads for mobile phones im selling.

BOTH listings were bought on buy it now. But both sellers are as dodgy as ever asking me to send to Malaysia and Sweden.

Specifically said in the ads minimum of 20 feedback and both these idiots have 0 feedback. Obviously i wont be sending the phones because its clearly a scam but how the hell can you avoid this shite on ebay.

Like im going to have to pay another €10 to place my two ads now

If you cancel the sale or contact ebay to tell them its a fraud, you should get a credit for the listing fees afaik

Hi Hogzy, its a pain when you have scammers wrecking your listings for items and having to relist

some simple solutions are in your Ebay account to make custom buyer requirements, eg no paypal account on file, low feedback, unpaid buyer strikes etc etc,

    Go to your Ebay account,

    click account

    click site preferences

then you'll see buyer requirements and at the right of it click show then edit and customize your personal settings

that then will stop scammers from registering just to wreck your listing or scam you etc

sometimes i let them bid for awhile to drive the prices up against real bidders ,then add them to the blocked bidder list towards the end so they cant make further bids and win the item

you can also cancel their bids as well if theyre wining

I find not adding a buy it now works sometimes, also you should probably only offer to post to UK and Ireland

You can just re-list the items again for free, open a dispute to get your final value credit back.

I went to relist though but it wants to charge me money again.

Edit: I have just noticed i ahve been debited a final value fee of 50 euro. WTF?

You need to go to the Resolution Centre to cancel the transaction:

    http://pages.ebay.ie/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html

Then you can get the final value fee (FVF) credited. Every seller is charged an FVF as soon as buyer wins an item in an auction or with buy-it-now. You need to go through the above process if the buyer doesn't pay.

you can block bidders whose account is registered in a specific country or region. so I have it set up that only UK or Ireland ebay member can bid.
of course there will still be a few who will buy from uk and want it sent to Nigeria or somewhere similar, but the risk of it happening will be greatly reduced

    All sorted.
Was chatting to a guy on customer support.

the €50 was my own fault. Cant believe ebay charge a 10% fee for selling a phone. Thats a joke, Will never go near the site if im ever selling again. 10% is extortionate.

Would you get 500 if you sold it on here?

Selling it on adverts for 400, In the UK the phones are ALOT more expensive so i was fairly sure i would sell it for more over there.

    +1

While I would agree that the prices to list and sell on ebay are quite high, you are paying for the exposure on the site, allowing items to sell for higher values than would be achieved elsewhere.
