I might be buying a non-runner with a view to fixing it up. Engine is shot and has been parked up for over a year and so is a non-driver.

Would anyone know someone with a trailer willing to do a bit of driving some sat/sun? The cars in Co. Limerick somewhere and I want it in Cavan. There's no point me going looking at it if it's even going to cost a small fortune to transport it.

If you have a hitch, I hired a large trailor from indespension for a tenner a day a few weeks ago. They're going cheap right now.

He will require an EB trailer license for that and the cops have been clamping down on that recently.

Alternativly if he is in no mad rush for it he could contact the various car transporting companies that deliver to the area where he is purchasing the car, he may be able to get it brought back with on empty load.

Non of the big transport companies will be able to look after a non-runner as there are no winches on the transporters.

Recovery truck is what we have to send for non runners, and that's pricey.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be asking of favours from family for the lend of a jeep and renting a trailer. Never knew it was so expensive to get a car transported.

... but as stated above you are legally required to hold an E+B licence to carry over 750kg on a trailor. I got away with it a few times in pure ignorance but I'll be making enquires about acquiring the licence.
