New iPods/iTunes/Apple TV

What are you most excited about. Have to admit I'm enticed by the new nano... looks very nice indeed. I'll take a trip down to the Apple store tomorrow to check them out... might bring the credit card

I'll also be interested to see what the up take on ping is.... sounds a bit too close to bing (even uses a similar font). If it takes off and if Apple update it with new features it could be a serious contender to Facebook.

I don't care for the new Nano at all. It seems like a step backward in almost every way. No video playback, no camera, no click-wheel. All for the sake of a touch screen that seems far too small to use comfortably. I love the touch screen on my iPhone, but if I was looking for just a music player I'd want something with physical buttons. The old Nano was the perfect iPod imo.

The new Touch is very nice. However, the storage is a little too small on the low end model. But it has a lot to offer in the way of features minus the phone.

The new Apple TV is an improvement on the old model, but it still doesn't interest me in the slightest. The film/tv offerings on the Irish iTunes store is miserable. But even on the US store you are paying for overpriced, low quality, DRMed movies. It's just bad value compared to what it would cost to get on Blu-ray. Renting is a slightly better option, but only for films. 99c for a tv episode isn't good.

I presume that Facetime and Skype don't work together yet? I know there was talk that video calling would eventually be made possible on the Touch via Skype. As far as I know Facetime only works between iPods with Facetime at the moment... This is the feature I want sorted before I indulge

Considering the premium being charged the iPod touch should come with GPS.

Facetime only works between the new iPod touch and iPhone 4 also it requires the use of your Apple ID to function. There's nothing to stop Skype from releasing a new version of their app to add the video messaging feature.
