Try replacing those photos with some decent ones. Putting effort into a good ad with good images really helps. Also, stick a clear URL in your sig.

Or maybe its simply people dont like buying a high value item like that and have no warranty, possibly most people aren't after that spec and know they can get a new laptop for that price or even less actually with a full warranty that does just what they need without the bells and whistles.

tbh, I'm suprised anyone asks for the money they do when it comes to certain second hand items, no matter how good they are.
It may actually have (had) quite a high value, but if you are passing that item on, it doesn't necessarily mean you will recover that value or even anywhere near it.

If its so good, why are you selling it? out of curiosity.

While your machine has a nice CPU, I would hazard a guess that people looking for a laptop like this will be looking for one with dual 8800GTXm over the 8700s. To get a rough idea of its market value, take a look at similar items that have sold on ebay (Ireland/UK). I would also say that proximity to Dublin sometimes helps in selling certain items on adverts (after all approx 1/3 of the population live there!) Perhaps give ebay a punt if you are prepared to risk posting?

    Id keep it

if you were in the big smoke that would have got almost 700quids,

just cos your in the sticks not your fault.

anyone with a bit of sense could put a 9800gtx sli into that and it would be just as good as a new alienware, probably better...

I got the same laptop but with a ssd drive 6 gigs of ram and a 9800gt sli and it runs battlefield bad company totally maxed out, no problem.

kind of depressing really as its a class piece of hardware, im selling it because i need some cash to pay for college and buy a new desktop, personally i think 550 is steal for what is in this thing ive never had any problems running any game (besides crysis) on high on it, i think the main problem with trying to sell this thing is that im in kerry and people wont collect it and when i add the price of a courier onto it it gets up to about 600 that way and besides most people want to actually see it working before they spend that kind of money :( oh well i can keep on trying but if i cant get 550 im just going to have to try something else

the bit about pics is bs,

all people need to know is the hardware spec, and it doesnt skimp on that, agreed the gpu is not very new but its still a very decent machine.

Just an idea would you think of droping it up to dublin that way people can see it working have a few people lined up to meet you im sure if you sold the laptop it would be worth while comeing up just add your train ticket on to the cost of the sale.

id second that, hike the price to 600e, that would cover your fare.

i would be confident of selling that to the first one who looks at it.

    easily worth 600 smackers.

trust me, no one in kerry would want that

I am from the sticks also, get your ass to dublin arrange some meet ups over a weekend and your done.

clearly you will not sell it as it is.

i wouldn't under sell it if i were you

the bit about pics is bs,

I disagree, it may not be a vital thing for the operation of a laptop but the impression of care it gives is an overall positive thing. Ask anyone in marketing and they'll back me up.
