Hey all, can anyone tell me what a couple would need (as in paper work) to get married in Vegas? Both never married before.
Also has anyone here got married in Vegas?? would love to hear what they thought of the whole experience!

You need to present yourself in the Marriage Bureau in LV (downtown near Fremont St - hop in a taxi!) at least 24 hours before you plan to get married.

You and your finance(e) need to be present. With your passports. They will give you a marriage licence to get married.

In the meantime (now) you should be researching chapels/churches/hotel where you want to get married. I suggest you book it now rather than waiting until you get over. Saying that there is so many you will have no problem finding one.

Check our Little Church of the West on the net......

I got married in Vegas this time last year. You don't have to do anything here before you go and the process over there is as amdublin said. You are legally married and the marriage is recognised here.

Insofar as letting people know that you are married, the only people who are really bothered are Revenue as you might want to consolidate your tax affairs, so you just need to send them a letter with both your pps numbers on it when you get back advising them that you got married and what way you wnat to be assessed for tax. The lady I spoke to on the phone told me they didn't even need a marriage cert.

You get a marriage cert when you get married but it is not the real thing. When you get back you can order certified copies of your cert one on the Clark County website. I got two. You'll need them when you are renewing your passport. I also needed to send my marriage cert in with my maternity benefit application form. They requested a copy certified by a Garda but I sent the original copy I had a they just sent it back to me registered post.

Are you planning on going just the two of you or a party over there too? We got married at the Wynn Hotel and had 30 guests at a reception at Maggiano's. Ask me anything you like and I'll dig out a few old threads I posted on too!
