1st grant payment date

    i recieved a vec grant and im due to pay for my accomadation soon ,, does anyone know the date that i should recieve my 1st grant payment ,, i think its october 1st but im not sure

    It could be anytime - every VEC and Council pay at different times and some of them are extremely slow - it could be November or December - If you are stuck financially ask the college about the student assistance fund

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me?     it also depends on which VEC you get it from, i get my grant from wicklow, they're very efficient, usually get paid my first installment around the second week of oct, however, my friend gets his from donegal, and they seem to be sh**e!!

    Also, it is VERY UNLIKELY that you'll get it in time for you accom payments, i usually just ignored my accom office in first until i had the money!!!

    I thought the first installment comes out in mid sept? i'm already on the grant scheme from last year but as i dont have to apply again and wait for ages to be confirmed, the first installment is earlier (i'm galway county co)

    its possible that it comes out mid sept, for galway, but im into my third yr, and every year iv been mid oct, but that may just be my vec.

    You said u dont have to apply again, but you do have to fill out a continuation form, if you havent done that, you wont get it until you do do it.
