iPhone Car Radio

Looking for a car radio that will be compatible with my iPhone.

I want to be able to hook it up through Bluetooth and use it as a handfree kit, so it will play through the car speakers. Playing music through Bluetooth is something that doesn't bother me.

Its just a standard car radio and isn't a special one.

Anybody have any suggestions? What model? Where to buy?

    Thanking you in anticipation!

I have a Sony MEX-3700u from Halfords....Does all that, even the bluetooth playing if needed, though I prefer using the USB as I get some charge at the same time.
Think it cost about 150ish possibly 170.

Thanks for the reply Savage Tyrant.

Do you know if it works with a 3GS running iOS4?

Looked it up in Halfords and its €249.99!!!. Can be got cheaper on Amazon tho!

    Anyone else got any suggestions?

Yeah it runs iOS4 no bother on the 3GS.
That price can't be right. I def paid no more than 170 about 2 months ago....I'll try an look for the receipt. If it was that expensive I'd have remembered

Have you tried resetting the HU? this happens mine sometimes but it works after I reset HU. It's a bit of a pain though because you'll need to tune all the radio stations in again...

I have a nokia CK-100 car kit installed in my car, and I can play my iPhone on it via bluetooth. I have a spare one for sale of you want, pm me if you're interested. This isn't a plug btw, I genuinely recommend them.

I have a similar Sony to Savage - this one here. I bought from them online, too.

It's the next model down from his (I also had the previous model). It does exactly what you need (except it doesn't have a USB slot).

Have paired it no problems with a 3G, 3GS and a 4 (running all OS's).

Even bought one for my brother for his birthday for his camper van!

That one is a good price Dades! Thanks, another one to consider! Hmm, would like the USB tho!

Wont be buying for a few weeks anyway, so anybody else got any suggestions?

Right, I'm looking for one that has a separate mic that you can put on your visor or something like that?

    Can they be got?
    • CD Player
    • USB
    • Aux In
    • Bluetooth
    • Extra Mic

Apart from the extra mic, there's one in Argos I got two weeks ago that has all the features you need. Works fine, though the sound from the in-built microphone is a little crappy.

It was 87 Euro - linky.

I've been driving my cousins car recently and she's got one of these:

I think it's super - it links into your existing stereo so you can still use that for CDs / radio but bluetooth playback is really good for music and call quality is excellent. They seem to have a new model coming out soon that looks B-E-A-uitiful :).

Main downside is that it's pretty pricey via they're website but a quick search on google throws up some much cheaper option.

Thanks Tom! Thats a good price too! I wonder could an external mic be connected to this?

Any other suggestions? If I could get one in Argos or Halfords that would be great.
