The most important thing you can bring is your parents. Make sure that you arrive with them and your mammy giving you a big kiss to wish you good luck. That'll leave you in good stead.

Don't bother with pens until 2nd/3rd yr. You'll prob just need a pass to get through to 2nd yr. Heck why not just copy a friends notes

Enough money to buy books, food, accommodation and drink.

I'm serious when I say this, not using AH humour, I personally always carry 1-2 johnnys and 1 morning after pill. Nothing is more scary than waking up to find you didn't use a johnny and then the few weeks after to find out if it's good news or bad.

Really though, use your common sense. Freshers week will be great craic. Lots of going out and getting aquainted with fellow freshers.

And of course..........never regret anythings that made you smile:)

It didn't do me any harm, I've over a hundred college friends. But that's in Maynooth where you aren't judged on such an immature level like in some other universities..*cough*..UCD;)

Bring yourself. Just be friendly and willing to join in and you'll enjoy the college experience. Good luck.

The responses in this thread genuinely sadden me.

Op, if you so wish you can learn a great deal in college, or you can decide that you want to be somebody who commits their existence to a banal social life, meaningless status among idiot peers and holding ignorance as a virtue. In my experience, albeit limited, I have found that the path chosen in college is often followed for a long time. Chose carefully.
