I want to add in ESPN into my sky package.Would sky do a deal if I sign up for the year like Setanta doing the 12 months for the price of 10.

Any one got any experience with this?

Doubt it....they already give a discount to Sky sports subscribers..

ESPN €12 per month for sky sports subscribers

€16.99 for non sky sports subs..

Can you upgrade online or does it have to be over the phone?

    You can do it online.

Before subscribing you should actually find out what is available with them 1st in ROI as alot of programmes are blocked here (Serie A, Uefa cup etc), theres another thread about it here. To get all the football and sports here you really need all 3 sports subs (Sky, ESPN, Setanta).

Snaps is correct-ESPN seem to block a lot of content here and if it's just Premier League you want don't bother with them, 23 live games is simply not worth the money they charge.

If it was the sport you require, get a sky Italia sub. You'll get films, programmes, kids, documentrys and loads of sport, including all the EPL, FA cup, Carling cup, spanish, Italian, German football, Rugby. The only thing you wont get is cricket. Sky UK would only have the cricket appeal for me, so i have to make do with channel fives highlights. Most of Sky Italia's channels have the original language stream (Obviously Spanish/Italian football will be in their native language). But even the Kids channels are in English. Also you never know if you've kids they'll pick up some Italian!!

Subs can be got from 600€ a year (Half the price of Sky UK/Ireland) and you'll get a lot lot more EPL!

Makes me laugh when i tell people about Sky Italia costing what it does. I get the reply "Not paying that, its too expensive", I then point out to them that their SKy, ESPN,Setanta sub is costing double that a year and you get a lot lot less for your bobs!

Thnaks for the help guys. Some good points there. Not really getting for the premiership but have an interest in the NFL and baseball.

I have sky hooked up to the landline so if I order in the interactive section with the remote, will ESPN be acitivated immediately or what usually happens?

they dont block seria a its just the europa league, im not sure if you can upgrade with the remote through interactive never done it but i know your not able to do some stuff on the website because your in ireland it could be the same. you would be better to ring them up because they'll put the channel on for you straight away. they show live mlb games and their showing the little league world series at the minute too haha but the dont show nfl games well the didnt last season i think sky mite have the uk rights, they have started to show monday nite football classic this year though the nfl shows they have mite just be talking about it, but the show a lot of ncaa football and the other american sports nba, nhl

They have UFC, NHL, NBA, they will be showing NFL on Mondays, Premiership.

    All in HD too.

Its well worth the money if you are into American sports, i wouldnt be without it.
