Great lil phone to be honest, slide out Key Board is very good and I'm a fella with fairly large hands! On screen key board is really good too for txting on the move.

Music player is decent, does the job, no equalizer. I've the the Sony Walkman NWZ-A845 as my main player, so the phone is really just a back up. FM radio on it is fantastic, got great use out of it at GAA matches for commentry etc. 3.5mm head phone jack so your normal headphones work.

It can be upgraded to a 16GB memory card. Currently on a older version of Android, 1.6.... 2.1 will be out by the time September is over.

Browser is very fast and easy to use. The screen is quite small, it's perfect size for 'Phone Functions' but online online browsing can get a bit annoying on a small screen. I only really use it to keep tabs with Facebook, checking Cinema times, Irish Times headlines, Youtube, having a look on boards.ie etc.

    Has Wifi.

Timescape, one of the major selling points on the phone is rubbish, don't bother, it just looks nice, nothing more.

Camera is very very good, and Sony say that 720p Video capture will happen after the 2.1 update! Night time shots aren't the best but what do you expect.

Not for you if you intend to use it as a pocket PC for internet browsing mostly, get something with a bigger screen. Great phone and I'm happy with my purchase.

thanks for the replies.. i'm on meteor pre pay and you can buy the phone on their website but i heard it's better to buy it sim free from phones online or carphonewarehouse cause meteor will take ages to release the updates or something to that effect?

Just some questions. I'm considering this phone as I want to enter the Android OS.

Also, is it easy to root this device?

Guys basically I think its fair to say that there is no catch with this phone. Its just the exact same as an x10, made smaller. It losses some of its power and stuff, but who cares.

This is actually a "smart" phone.

They're completely different phones, I've also never heard anything good from owners/reviews of the x10 and was completely unimpressed with the limited hands on I've had myself. I like the look of the device, but overall found it to a poor user experience - the 128mb ram really kills it. The mini/pro on the other hand have had pretty much universal praise.

Just back from Electric Picnic and the battery on this baby lasted for the whole festival, it did die by the time I got back to the car but I have a car charger. Just had to make a changes to settings like display, and switching off Data and Wifi when not in use.

    Jackobyte:

Can Swype be installed for the on screen board?

---The phone does not have an on screen QWERTY landscape key board installed at all so I'd imagine SWYPE is not possible. QWERTY landscape boards can be downloaded from the Market, I dunno if SWYPE can be used with a third party keyboard though. TBH, an on screen landscape QWERTY on this phone would be pointless. Screen iz too small.

Is it easy to upgrade and do different networks take longer at launching it?

---Haven't had my upgrade in yet, I have had some existing 1.6 software updates, dead easy to upgrade those, I imagine the update to 2.1 will be exactly the same. There is a setting that will automatically check for updates and the phone will download and install updates itself over Wifi.

Don't know what the story is with networks and update delays, I got my phone SIM free online so I get the update as soon as SE release it. My mate had to wait a bit longer for his update for his HTC Hero on Meteor.

Also, is it easy to root this device?

---Don't know, no comment. Have seen on the SE Product Blog, people talking about downloading some free software for '1 Click' Rooting of the phone.
