Hi all, decided to put this in here because I think I'll get an answer quicker.

Basically a friend of mine's wife is looking to change from a Land Cruiser to something like a Q5. I need to know if the Q5 can tow the same load or similar to a Land Cruiser. He mentioned something about stopping and half a ton in the same sentence aswell. I know very little about this obviously and that's why I'm here. The Q5 in particular we're looking at is the 3.0TDI model which is 236bhp and torque figure of 369lb-ft or 500nM.

Think all the info I need is here http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?deriv=45828

I'm just not sure what info exactly I need.

Also if the Q5 isn't suitable for towing a horsebox then suggestions are welcome.

The audi is a lot smaller and lighter than a land cruiser.
It may not be heavy enough to legally tow a horsebox.
Just as a matter of interest does she know that you can't tow a horsebox on a standard car liecense?

Over the course of a five year period I did a lot of towing with a Landcruiser, a Trooper and a Discovery. Even though the Trooper had an Auto box I'd take the Landcruiser everytime I could.

I know almost nowt about the Q5 but if your friend's wife is just badge chasing somebody needs to put the brakes on her.
