Probably a stupid question but im clueless with all this stuff.

Do you lose your no claim bonus if you cancel your insurance?

Had to give up with my car. Have to make some sacrifices for college but if i was lucky enough to get work, i might pick up another one, dont know yet. But if i get to keep my no claims bonus, how do i provide proof of it?

I went abroad for two years a while back and had problems starting up a new car insurance policy because i had no insurance in Ireland for two years.
But i got in touch with my foreign insurance company and they sent me a copy of my no claims bonus. All was well in the end although some insurance companies wouldn't accept the foreign NCB. Thing is, they would screw me if i had a claim abroad. Having cake and eating it springs to mind!:(

When you cancel your policy they should send you a printout stating how many years no claims you have. As far as i know, this remains valid for up to two years.

Ah thanks for that. I never received anything from them stating my no claims bonus. I must get onto them.
