Washer/Dryer repair in Dublin?

    Hi folks
    I've a Hotpoint Aquarious 1100 washer dryer (WD61) - its now over 7-8yrs old.

Its been completely reliable until 2 weeks ago, when it started making very loud noises when spinning. When I try to move the barrel with my hand, its quite difficult.

I rang Hotpoint who can repair for €135 with 3mth warranty or €199 with 12mth warranty. Problem is,

    1) I'd have to take a day off work, as they say that they can't give me a time that the repair man will come ("anytime between 8am & 6pm", Mon to Friday). This doesn't suit at all.

    2) I'm not sure if I'd just be better off replacing the thing altogether, given its age?

Anyway - I'd appreciate if anyone had any recommendations for a repair man / woman! in Dublin City/North Dublin, so I can get a quote for a repair & a chance of getting a more appropriate call out time.

OR - depending if a repair is not practical - if anyone had a recommendations for a replacement washer/dryer it'd be much appreciated.

    Cheers
    The Don

The best thing to do would be ring the shop where you bought it and ask them for a number of a repairman that they would reccommend, and just ask how much the new ones are in case. Give the repairman a ring and see what the cost would be,and decide from there. The Hotpoint call out charge is ridiculous.
