VEC appointments

Does anybody know how VEC appointments work in practice.

Say, for example, a principal in a VEC school asked his VEC to recruit a French and Geography teacher. Does the VEC consult him before appointing the new teacher or is the process entirely separate? How many people are on a VEC interviewing panel and are any of those people from the school that needs the new teacher?

    Thanks.

In our VEC the principal is on the panel.

In our VEC the Principal usually isn't on the interview panel. There are be at least 3 members of the panel, both genders represented. The one panel would interview in our VEC for a number of positions that have arisen.

The recruitment is done by the VEC, not the school. As Spurious said, there is a panel called to interview for several positions at a time. If a principal happens to be on the panel, it is in another capacity other than as principal.
