I woke up Friday morning and there was a massive bumblee on the end of my bed, it was about an inch long and one of those chubby f***ers. Haven't a clue how it got there but it looked like it was dying. Had to catch it in a glass and get it out but it scared the bejasus out of me, was freaked out thinking what would have happened if it had have crawled under the covers and kept imagining I was hearing buzzing all day.

Funny you should bring this up, i put out a jam-jar about 3/4 full with water. Big holes in the lid and jam on the inside of that lid. Have killed about 30 of them in last few days. They crawl through the holes in the lid to get to the jam, try to fly after a bit, then end up in the water.

Why? I mean to kill them for being a pest is one thing but to actually go out of your way to kill them seems like pointless cruelty

had to kill one that managed to get into bed with me last nite, got stung twice, after about 15mins of thrashin around in ma bed :D i nailed him, my leg is now nice and swollen for my crime

I don't kill the wasp that's annoying me. I kill his parents and friends and family, leaving him to live and suffer with his pain and grief. I think it's a proportionate reaction.

I threw a banana skin into a rubbish bin the other day and about 15 or 16 of them came out flying looking to sting something.
So, even when you go to feed them they return the favour by trying to sting you.
Blast them to hell I say.

THIS is how bees*/wasps are killed.

im a teatowel ninja-im extremely allergic and so am terrified of them
it would be grand if they just buzzed around the room like flies but they just keep getting up in my face:eek:

    - 1 Jam jar preferably with some jam left in it
    - Spread remaining jam around the bottom and inside of the jar with a spoon
    - Fill with water by 3/4 and leave outside
    - Sit back and watch your wasp kill count soar!

They more you kill, the higher the chance of you getting even more back to your house.:D

They give off a pheromone when they are attacked/killed that brings other wasps looking for the original wasp in trouble.

I saw a programme on TV about that, its really becoming a problem in the USA & it could spread here via the UK, I hope they figure out a way to combat it cos we need bees!

I have so many dead wasps now I have taken on a pet spider to feed them to.

bees are great, please don't kill bees.

Kill wasps though. We already have the secret of paper, they can all die.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

you have to find the hive. wait for the cover of darkness when they all return home to sing tales of the days adventures and have a nap.

And then you drown the fcukers in RAID as they scream to themselves The Hive Cluster is Under Attack!

And then they all die in place.

Thats how you kill a dozen hornets right quick.

The term wasp is typically defined as any insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor ant. If anything it's believed bees are some sort of descendants of wasps, not the other way around. Still, bees are not wasps, and wasps are not bees

The humour was lost on me because it was based on an incorrect implication :(

Love when you're walking up the road and you see a wasp on the ground.

I always slow down so I'll step on it.

I haven't seen a wasp all year, the big artic blast in January wiped them out. Yer man in America is a fooking moron, Bees are harmless and badly needed for the environment, if that was Wasps I'd salute his stupidity. He also destroyed his kids swing... what a moron.

    cruelty towards wasps
Anyway I've killed several with some the fly spray, may go and set up a jam jar to get more of them. Love to find their nests and take them out for good, preferably with fire

Definitely agree on the jam jars. We have killed about 60 or 70 with just 2 jars.
