Current PS3 deals in Dublin

Any idea what are some of the best deals in Dublin for a slim? Seems like the deals haven't gotten much better since the spring. I don't really care if it's a 120 or 250 as I'll be keeping my media on an external HD anyways.

Looking for buying it with at least Red Dead Redemption but possibly Demon's Souls as well plus some second hand titles. Extra controller in the deal would be good.

so far the best seems to be 250 for the 120gb in Game and then just get the games i want, cause the combo deal games are not that interesting to me.

can anyone tell me what's the Argos deal at the moment? their website just has the expensive console prices but there was talk earlier about a deal?

Whether it has value to anyone here or not the Move bundle will probably be the best value

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭snowblind

It probably will. I don't care for the Move at all so I don't have to wait for it either ;)

who knows a person could buy the bundle and sell the move stuff, it depend on the price.

Also looking to get a PS3 (My Xbox has been suffering and dying for a long time now, time to move on!) if any one sees any good deals would appreciate the heads up. I'll probably just be looking to get Fifa 11 games wise, and an extra controller.

    Thanks

Sounds good, might have to get up early tomorrow. Any link to the offer? Assume its just one controller and no games.

Thanks for the heads up though.

GAME should be running new deals now so check them out. I got my console already so I'm not bothered

If possible hold out for 2 weeks - there's a 320GB model launching at the same RRP as the current 250GB. I'd imagine there will be deals available on the 250s to clear them out. :)

They are upping the 120GB to 180GB too I think?!??!

I was thinking of getting a Bluray player to complement my new HD TV, but I thought I may as well get a PS3, right?

Anyway, are there any good deals around Dublin or online?

    Thanks!

Yep . But I think its up to 160GB. Still great though. My advice would be to get the one with smallest hard drive capacity and then just swap it out for a 500GB or whatever. Works out cheaper than buying a ps3 with a big hdd installed already .

The install is easy peasy too btw and doesn't void your warranty ;)

Aye but mind the screws. They're so so delicate.

was in gamestop today and a member of staff told me they have very few of the current consoles left and it is unlikely they will be selling any off (Carlow). The new PS3's will retail at the same price he said so hold off for two weeks if you are planning on buying one!

Been out of the console world for 10 years now and decided I'd like to give the PS3 a try... I am after the 250GB but I've tried Game and HMV (all of the Dublin branches) and all sold out.
What I'm after is Red Dead Redemption and BattleField 2 and HMV would swap the games around for me for the 250 GB deal @ 350. But... Out of stock.

Anyone know where I can get ANY PS3 that would swap around games in their bundle? Game wouldn't do it.

Most people don't really need 250GB, i have a 60GB and i'm only needing to upgrade the size now with all the psn plus stuff i get. As was posted above the HDD upgrade is very simple and HMV would probably do the same swap deal on the lower size.

Are there any god deals out there on the PS3?
Wheres the best place to buy?

    TIA

Places will be selling a 320GB slim console with the Move for around €350.

There'll also be a 160GB alternative I think for slightly cheaper I'd imagine.

Argos at the moment are selling a 250GB console with 2 games for €350.

Those are the only ones I know about.

Amazon have a 320gb PS3 with GT5 Collectors Edition available for pre-order for approx €350, wonder if stores here will offer a similar deal. If they are i'll definitely hold off buying one because im not really interested in 'move'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,431 ✭✭✭ziggyman17

thinking of trading in my ps3 ( the original one have it since 2007, think it could be on its way out ) and an xbox 360 for the new version of the ps3 with the bigger hdd, any ideas who is doing the best trade in deals ???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,678 ✭✭✭TrustedApple

I say ring them eg you have google google there phone numbers it's not that hard to do
This is for the hole ps3 with move guy

Maybe hmv for trade INS but if it's a 2007 60gb put it up on advorts.ie because a lot of people are after that one not the 40gb one

Xbox I was in game yesterday there giveing 50 euro for a 20g so I say that's the going rate for one with hdmi and 30 euros with out hdmi

Not many are after the old fat xboxs with the silm one out now

Most shops won't take the pre-HDMI 360 now at any price as they won't be able to sell it.

if thats the case ill just have to trade in the ps3 then.. its still working well except the noise of the fan when playing certain game or blue ray movies, hopefully the new ps3 is not as noisey

Put the 360 up on Adverts, and try using a vacuum on the PS3.

The second controller seems to be an alternative hardware. If that's the case, I wouldn't buy it.

Havent heard anything recently but back in July Sony said there wasnt any plans to drop the price soon. Maybe keep an eye out for individual store bundle deals?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,222 ✭✭✭robbie_998

320GB playstation 3 is €349.99 on its own

might get a deal or something with that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,561 ✭✭✭✭Varik

the best value you'll get is the price drops on older models when new models come out.

you won't hear about it very far in advance, it would be bad for sales.

Main question, is there going to be a price drop any time soon with any PS3 models?

Sony have just released PS3s with bigger HDDs, so can't see them dropping prices any time soon, especially with christmas coming up.

I pretty much want a PS, but im looking at Xbox's too now but I dont like the whole RROD deal, along with small non-upgradable hdd's & lack of bluray drive.

Slim chance of getting a RROD console now, they have developed a etter console than those at launch.

You have as much chance of YLOD as RROD.

GAME in the square in Tallaght had a few PS3 ''managers specials'' advertised in store when I was up there yesterday.

120gig PS3 with some non new release games included(fifa 10 etc) with 1 controller for around 280e/290,cant remember exact price but was under 300 anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭Animo

Saw a poster outside HMV on Patricks St in Cork today saying they have a 320GB PS3 with the Move Starter Pack and either Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011 or Racquet Sports all for €350, the RRP for the 320GB console on its own. Would be worth getting if anyone was thinking of getting a PS3.

Does anybody know how much of a trade in Gamestop give for a 60gb console for a new slim?
