My friend was in an antique store and bought the book "Fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen" 1901 first edition, illustrated by Gordon Browne, introduction by Edward Clodd, produced by Wells Gardner, Darton & Co. London.

She had a feeling that the book might be worth much more than the price she paid for it! I was wondering would anyone know a pricing for it? It's from 1901 so god only knows how many hands it has gone through in the last 109 years!

As for the condition there is a little bit of wear and tear on the spine and the cover has faded with use. Sadly, some little eejit also wrote on the front cover :(

She was wondering how much it would be worth. Where she could take it in town to be valued?

Sadly the book is in poor condition judging by the cover and even in good condition is available on Abebooks.com for €30 - see here: http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=hans+christian+andersen&bi=h&kn=gordon+browne&tn=fairy+tales&x=71&y=11 - sorry.
