Hey guys, just looking for a bit of advice.

After much thought I have decided to apply to the reserves.
I just downloaded the application form now.

I'm 18 and have only had 1 job part time a couple of years ago. I quit it going into 6th year and haven't had a job since. I'm a full time student now.

Do you think this will stand against me? They might think I'm too inexperienced for the reserves etc.

It really ain't something to be worried about at 18years of age. Have a look through this very-useful pdf document for more information. (eligibilty requirements is on page 7).
The powers-that-be will take everything into consideration when interviewing candidates and will clearly know, that at 18years of age, someone won't have very much work experience. The way I see it is, they wouldn't have set the age requirements at 18-60years without considering the experience levels each age-bracket will hold and what each can bring both in the short-term and long-term to the position of a Garda Reserve.
