that's pretty much it. mainland spain would be cold enough, canarys are an obvious choice. anywhere else fit the bill for a cheap / budget sun holiday around this time of year?

    thanks

Don't think you will get too much 'budget' as long distances are required.

i'd highly recommend La Gomera, its the 2nd smallest of the Canary Islands and completely different to them, its more like a hawaiin island like Maui, very mountainous, forested inland and lots of beaches.

We flew into Tenerife and got the ferry out, wasnt expecting much from it just a weeks sunshine and was blown away by the place. We stayed in Hotel Jardin Tecina and it was stunning, built right up on the cliff face, a beautiful old world hotel which even had a lift from the cliff edge, through the mountain to the beach down below.

only tourists on la gomera seemed to be German hikers although there were a few hippies knocking about San Sebastian, playing drums watching the sunset,

Its a hotel we'll be returning to!

Sharm el sheikh will be mid to high 20's and usually some good deals going on.

There are charter flights from dublin but the best deals I saw for a week were via gatwick from dublin.

It's as lively as anywhere in the canaries etc
